for wild brown trout is possible in a range of
ponds and lakes on the estate. The trout breed
naturally in the streams that rise from springs
in the woods, and hence are abundant. There are
ten ponds on the headwaters and tributaries of
the river Stour. All are in peaceful, beautiful
surroundings. A season's permit costs £100,
a week's permit £30.
Has two good coarse fishing lakes,
Stan's lake (.5 acre) and Heron Lake (1 acre)
containing carp (30 lbs. Plus), tench, roach,
rudd, perch, bream and gudgeon. There are plenty
of double figure carp in both lakes, with the
best now above the magical 30 lbs mark, crucians,
tench to almost 6lb, bream and perch up to 3lb
plus, roach almost 3lb, golden tench almost 5lb.
