Loch Leven has long been a famous fishery. At
the turn of the century many rivers and lochs
around the world were stocked with brown trout
from the loch chosen for their quality and beauty.
Ova were transferred as far as New Zealand and
North America.
It is a little difficult to find. From the centre
of the town follow signs for Loch Leven Castle
and don't be put off .. the road really does lead
to the fishery!

The loch is 4 miles across, so finding the fish
is a priority. The lodge sells excellent maps
giving features depths and locations. In high
winds it can be exposed so dress well and take
care.
