Fishings - General
The beats are situated about 4 to 6 miles from
the top reaches of tidal water. The beats especially
Catholes, Pitlochrie and Benchil are amongst the
most famous Spring fishing beats on the Tay plus
they offer excellent autumn fishing in medium
to low water conditions.Luncarty offers good high
water Fishing. The Stanley fishings consist of
4 beats Luncarty, Benchil,
Pitlochrie and Catholes.
Luncarty
Good big water beat for spinning and fly fishing
from the boat.
Fish gather below and above hear waiting the
right conditions to run the Shochie and the Ordie
streams in the autumn.
It fishes 4 rods, has 1 boat and a fishing hut
at the river.
The beat has 5 named pools including the Shochie,
Big Stone, Eddys, Cadgers and the Willow.
