Seven miles (middle stretch) of the White Cart
Water; from waterfoot downstream to Crookstone.
Four miles (lower stretch) of the Leven Water
from Gateside/Barrhead to Crookston (all tributaries).
Location
By car 10 to 15 minutes south of Glasgow; bus
takes slightly longer. From 2 to 7 miles from
the city centre.
Species
Salmon, sea & brown trout
Seasons
Salmon and sea trout between 11th February
and 31st October: both dates inclusive except
when they fall on Sundays.
Brown trout 15th March to 6th October
inclusive.
Coarse fishing not permitted at any time.
Additional Information
Annual competitions are held for members. Guidance/instruction
for new members, beginners or visitors by arrangement
with the Secretary. Full Membership gained through
buying a season permit - no joining fees. Rules
are printed on the permits. Permits must be purchased
before approaching the water. Warranted Bailiffs
have their powers of search, seizure and arrest.
Heaviest reported (verified) salmon - 11 lbs,
sea trout - 6 lbs, brown trout - 5.5 lbs
