9.00 am onwards anglers from accross the region
gather in the square. Its a great time to check
up on old friends and to compare notes with the
locals. The River had been very high for serveral
weeks before the opening. Few kelts had been seen
, but expectations were still high.

One
of this years sponsors was Dewars Whisky. To make
sure that the day began with a warm glow Dewars
kindly kept up a steady flow of the water of life.
Everybody
was keen to join in the fun. An low and behold
the skies cleared and we had a cracking winters
day on our hands.
