The Tay
Ghillies Association held the annual Fun Day
at the Ballinluig Recreation Ground on Sunday
6th August. The Association must be doing rather
well because the Big Yun smiled upon the day and
the weather was glorious again! As usual the event
was very well attended with a real extravaganza
of events and happenings throughout the afternoon.
The following few pages will give you some idea
of the many things that we all got up to.
The Association would like to thank the many visitors
who came to the day. The Association is scrupulous
in ensuring that all proceeds from the day go
back into the river. This year it is working with
the Tay District Salmon Fisheries Board to start
up a new salmon hatchery for rehabilitation work.
Sincere thanks are also due to the many businesses
and owners who have been really generous in supporting
the Fun Day. We should also thank Jimmy Tritton
and all his team of ghillies for giving everybody
such a splendid day out.
Last year the event raised £2,200 which
bought the holding tanks now at Almond bank. These
are full of spring salmon which will be used for
this years brood stock. |
