Salmon Fishing

Standing just yards from the banks of the world famous River Tay, The Birnam House Hotel can offer superb sport to the salmon and sea trout angler, with fish coming off the water from January to close of season in October. Rods are available from bank and boat on some excellent beats on tthe River Tay and Tummel and loch fishing by boat on Lochs Faskally and Tay.

Brown Trout

Both the Tay and the Tummel are renowned for the size and quality of brown trout which are regularly landed, however the brown trout fisher not only has the choice of these great rivers, but can also choose from a selection of small hillside rivers and streams and a wide variety of lochs for both stocked and wild brownies. Fishing for brown trout in Perthshire, offers great sport with prices starting as low as £2 per rod per day. Fishing is available on the Tay, Tummel, Braan, Lochan A'muillin, Stare and Rohallion Dams, Butterstone Loch and Loch Leven.

Pike

Gaining in popularity, pike fishing adds an exciting dimension to the Birnam House Hotel fishing experience. Pike can grow to a large size in the hill lochs surrounding the hotel and the sight of the reeds parting as your lure is pursued through the water, will be familiar to pike fishers everywhere.

Fishing Package Tarrifs

The following proces will allow you to plan your fishing trip to sui your budget and the time of season that you wish to stay with us. Dinner, bed and breakfast rates are per person per night based on 2 people sharing a twin or double room. A suplement of £12 per night will apply for single occupancy. Accommodation can be in the hotel itself which offers 30 ensuite rooms or in our annexe whach has 6 comfortable en suite twin rooms at a discounted rate.

Salmon fishing from the Hotel is mainly carried out on the River Tay with rods, (subject to availibility) on some excellent beats such as Dalguise, Lower Kerkock, Newtyle and Delvine.

The following prices are based on Lower Newtyle which has a six rod limit:

Should the beat not be fully let, the boat and ghillie are available at £50 per day
