Perched
high in the beautiful wooded valley of the Tay,
sits one of Scotland's most unique hotels: Kinnaird.
Situated in a magnificent 9,000 acres of
the most spectacular Perthshire countryside,
the Kinnaird Estate comprises the original
Edwardian mansion, now a luxury hotel where
guest pampering is the order of each and every
day, and eight charmingly furnished individually-styled
cottages, located at secluded spots around
the Estate.
For those guests who return every year, Kinnaird
and its guest cottages offer a secluded and
restful haven, where the stresses of the outside
world soon become a distant memory. However,
it's not all just relaxation. In fact perhaps
the most pleasing aspect of a stay at Kinnaird
is that it can be just about as peaceful or
as lively as you wish it to be.

The pleasures of a visit to Kinnaird
One of the pleasures of a visit to Kinnaird
is the comfort and elegance that the owner
Constance Ward and her superb staff have created
to welcome every guest. The house, parts or
which date back to the 1770's, has been furnished
almost entirely with fine and rare pieces
of antique furniture, china and pictures.

|
There
are nine guest bedrooms in all, each one stylishly
decorated and designed in its own distinctive
way, featuring a gas log fire as well as its own
luxurious bathroom, in the traditional style of
the house.

|
Prominent
among Kinnaird's many shared areas is the panelled
Cedar Room, where guests can relax before and
after meals in the deep-cushioned armchairs and
sofas. Beautiful pictures, family mementoes -
including cases displaying many of the fine salmon
caught on the Kinnaird Beat - and comfortable
sofas help create a wonderful cosy atmosphere,
enhanced in winter-time by the roaring log fire.

Discover the great outdoors
Active-minded guests can cast for trout or
salmon on the Tay or one of the three lochs
on the Estate, knock a ball about on the all-weather
tennis court, discover the traditional excitement
of the croquet and bowling lawns, walk for
miles through the majestic surrounding countryside,
play golf nearby, shoot clay pigeons, go horseback
riding; the activity list goes on and on...

Dining at Kinnaird
is a gourmet's delight
Chef
draws on his experience at many of the country's
finest hotels to create an imaginative and beautifully
presented menu, using the finest of local produce
whenever possible. The wine cellar and the extensive
selection of aperitifs and traditional mal whiskies
complement the delicious food. The restaurant
and the private dining room are both exquisitely
decorated; the hand-painted Italian frescoes in
the restaurant being a rare sight to behold, and
both rooms offer guests magnificent views over
the Tay Valley and the lush hotel gardens.
