Loch Tay Highland Lodges

Loch Tay Highland Lodges are situated on a private Highland Estate at Milton Morenish and set in 160 acres of outstandingly beautiful, tranquil countryside.

Set in the foothills of Ben Lawers, our luxury Lodges and spacious estate grounds are maintained to a high standard. Constructed in Scandinavia to exacting specifications, the Lodges ensure comfort, warmth and convenience for guests; all face south and enjoy maximum sunshine, with unrivalled views over Loch Tay to the mountains beyond.

The location of Loch Tay Highland Lodges at Milton Morenish makes it ideal for fishing on both the central and western beats of the loch.

Salmon taken from the loch over recent years have been increasing in both quality and numbers, the largest being slightly in excess of 40lbs!

The Lodges have eighteen various boats - all with outboard motors, these are available for hire by the day or week. Ghillies are also available at reasonable all-inclusive daily-rates, but need to be booked in advance. From January to the end of May we offer special 2 and 5 night Fishing Breaks.

Loch-side fishing from the banks of the Lodges is free to all residents. Scales for checking the weight of catches are available and rests for leaving made-up rods are in the leisure Centre, plus a freezer for your catch.

In addition to fishing on the loch salmon and trout fishing can be arranged on two private beats on the exclusive River Tay; this facility needs to be booked well in advance! Salmon and trout fishing are also available on the River Dochart.

You may bring your own boat on Holiday and moor it on the loch.

Loch Tay Highland Lodges have much to offer visitors of all ages, whether looking for pure relaxation or an activity-packed holiday. We are the ideal touring base, being virtually at the geographical "hub" of Scotland with the most extraordinary variety of wonderful scenery on our doorstep.

The village of Killin is 3 miles away, at the west end of Loch Tay, where you find the much photographed Falls of Dochart, as well as a wide choice of restaurants and shops, a garage and a helpful Tourist Information Office. During the summer the village hosts its own very special Highland games, an agricultural Show and a Folk Festival.

All Lodges have verandahs giving superb views over Loch Tay; there are two-bedroom Lodges for 4 people and three-bedroomed Lodges for 6 people. The Lodges are tastefully furnished - each fully equipped with electric cooker, refrigerator, cooking utensils, crockery, etc. and a colour television including satellite. Please bring your own towels!

All bathrooms are fully fitted and have an electric shaverpoint and a heated towel rail. Some Lodges have an additional shower-room within the main bedroom; a microwave, dishwasher and washing machine in the kitchen.

The efficient electric heating makes the Lodges extremely warm and cosy in the winter, making them an ideal base for off-season and short breaks

A Mini Leisure Centre is situated by the harbour and has 2 pool tables, a sauna, solarium and spa-bath. There is an 18 hole putting green for guest's enjoyment, putters and balls can be hired from reception. Clay-pigeon shooting and tuition is available and should be booked in advance at reception. The centre also houses the guests laundry with coin-operated automatic washing machine and tumble drier

Mountain Bikes can be hired in the village - or bring your own, as Milton Morenish has its own purpose built track, meandering 4 miles into the foothills of Ben Lawers.

There are many activities available nearby. Killin has its own enjoyable 9-hole golf course and there are four other golf courses within 30 minutes drive. Excellent opportunities exist for hill-walking, watersports, white water-rafting, wildlife safaris, deer-stalking, game shooting and ski-ing - with Glencoe only an hour away.

Milton Morenish Riding Centre is a purpose-built facility, providing guests with the very best in all things equestrian. We cater for all ages and abilities - from pony rides for small children to - to exhilarating rides into the hills or splashing through the shallows of Loch Tay. Novices and experienced riders alike are very welcome - if you have never ridden before, now is your chance to give it a try!

We have an Olympic-size outdoor riding school for tuition from our BHS qualified instructors. Again novice or advanced riders are welcomed by our friendly and helpful staff. We can cater for guests who wish to bring their own horses with them on holiday. Please phone in advance to arrange this. We also breed horses here at Morenish - so there are always foals and young horses around.
