1999 Catch
and Release Badge for Spring Salmon
To support the Tay District Salmon Fishery Board's
proposals for the catch and release of spring salmon,
Mitchells of Pitlochry decided to reward conservation-minded
anglers with a thank you in recognition of their
forward thinking.
A badge, based on the Atlantic Salmon Federation's
catch and release logo, was awarded to anyone who
released a fish that they could legally have retained
between the start of the 1999 season and the end
of the season

Well the scheme ran for
a year in 1999 and was well received by the anglers.
Unforetunately none of the local organistations
were interested in following it up and Nick can't
afford to fund the whole thing himself. So it
looks like another good idea has bitten the dust.
