Gala Dinner 1999

Pre-Dinner Events

As usual the Gala Dinner was held at the Kenmore Hotel, with 120 guests attending.

The fireworks were blown away in the wind and were soaked by the rain and were eventually abandoned.

Choir

The choir assembled on the pontoon for the singing of the Tay Boat song. This may well have been heard in Aberfeldy, but guests on the veranda were none the wiser. The Choir continued in the best traditions, until it was realised that they were singing their hearts out to two flowerpots! Many thanks for their efforts. Next year they will be inside!

Meeting and Greeting

There was much talk of salmon in the Poets bar and a few more drams were downed. Paul Young met a few local characters. including Charlie Pirie and Adam Weir. Paul seems to have survived the event.

A excellent repast was enjoyed by all

The party headed off to the Dinning room. The new owners put on a splendid show. A most excellent address to the haggis given by Gillian McNab.
