The shepherd who lived in
the nearby croft used to play the pipes
-
which could be heard from here! It is a very
rocky pool and was once described as a pool
for mountain goats! It does required a walk
of some 200 yards over some lumpy boulders,
but the walk can be worthwhile as salmon
like to hide amidst the rocks. The Nils
Erik Tornquist
party (who come every year from Sweden to
fish Taymouth) always seem to take a fish
or two or three from here. Apart from the
main belly there is an interesting lie on
the far bank at the tail. This is the remanent
of an old croy - which often holds a fish.
