The shepherds croft used to
lie just above this pool - hence the name.
The pool has a fine gravelly bottom. To reach
the main channel you either need to wade out
(which is easy unless the water is very high)
or put out a long line. Fish tend to lie in
the main channel and in front of the big croy
at the tail.
