The River Earn taken at Templemill, Creiff,
looking upstream. |
The Earn season for salmon and sea trout runs
from 1st February to 31st October. |
|
The River Earn is commonly called
a tributary of the Tay. This is perhaps a misconception.
The only connection is that the Earn flows into
the Tay Estuary well below the high tide mark.
They are both very distinct rivers and
are of quite different character. The Earn (unlike
the Tay) is famous for its sea trout and salmon
run later (hence season difference). |
